Description

Gallery House was founded in 1958 as part of the Palo Alto Consumers' Co-op to provide holiday sales of local artists' works; however, within two years the members established a permanent venue to show their works on the peninsula. The first exhibition space was in a residence in College Terrace, followed by 8 years in the Ladera Shopping Center.

Gallery House was founded in 1958. In 1962 the gallery moved to Ramona Street in downtown Palo Alto where it became a showcase for local artists. In the 60s and 70s, Gallery House hosted countless art receptions and special events. Many supportive patrons like Wallace Stegner and William Hewlett attended these events. In 2000 Gallery House moved to a larger location on California Ave. in Palo Alto. Gallery House proudly continues this tradition of exhibiting local and original arts and crafts.
