Martin Rich is interested in the ever-changing nature of the built environment. Structures over time become weathered, altered by repairs, repainted, and take on new uses. These changes affect how they are seen in a certain light of day at different points in time. For over 40 years, Rich has been working with photographs as a visual tool and an art form. His work has won prizes and recognition and has been published, exhibited and collected.

Harry Orlyk, who grew up in the Albany area, and still lives in NY, creates works much differently from those of Bloodgood-Abrams. With a mantra of “the day is my model,” Orlyk makes a painting a day to document the rich farmland of rural NY in the rich spirit of the farmers who work the land. His landscapes are thick with paint and glow with the color and light of the changing seasons. Orlyk, a master plein-air painter, has exhibited with Carrie Haddad Gallery for over 15 years, and has developed a sizeable following.

Carrie Haddad Gallery is pleased to present a rather special exhibit on view from September 19th to October 27th. New York City: A Glance at Fifty Years. A reception is planned for Saturday, September 21st from 6-8 PM. All are welcome. New York City: A Glance at Fifty Years is a rare opportunity to view a spectrum of artwork that emerged during several highly charged decades of the 20th century and into the 21st.

Shelly Lependorf and Stan Shire have been collaborating since 2002. As a painting major at The Philadelphia College of Art, Lependorf continued to work in her Philadelphia studios for over 35 years forging recognition as a painter, printmaker and sculptor. She has exhibited worldwide. Shire, in addition to being a certified Adobe Photoshop Expert, is Professor Emeritus of Photographic Imaging at Community College of Philadelphia. Lependorf became fascinated with the world of digital imagery and sought to incorporate it into her work.

So writes environmental photographer Michael Sibilia on his 2009 journey to Anchorage, Alaska. For ten days Sibilia photographed the frozen landscape around him; a landscape breathtaking in its majesty, in spite of ever expanding industrialization. A Hudson Valley resident, Sibilia has been practicing the art of photography for over 30 years. As a freelance photojournalist, he has been afforded the opportunity to experience the diverse scenery of the United States, and most recently, Suchitoto, El Salvador.
