The company operates 14 manufacturing and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States. The company sells products through distributors, retailers, specialty supply houses, as well as in components in other product manufacturing.Gardner Asphalt was started back in 1945 with just one small plant in Tampa, FL. In 1968 the company was acquired by the Hyer family. During the last 38 years, the business expanded across the country to be the leading supplier of packaged coatings. In May of 2000, Gardner acquired the Gibson-Homans Company, which was a perfect strategic fit. This acquisition strengthened Gardner's position in roof and driveway coatings, and also built on an established distribution channel into the paint and decorating business. Today our products are widely recognized across the roofing, pavement, paint and decorating businesses.
