Description

Garland Manufacturing Company was founded in 1866 and was incorporated in 1873. The company is now owned and managed by the fifth and sixth generations of the Garland family. Garland Maunufacturing's original products were primarily machine parts for textile mills, inluding loom pickers made of water buffalo rawhide. These pickers moved the loom's shuttle rapidly from one end of the loom to the other -- water buffalo hide was used for its toughness and extreme durability.

GAR-DUR® plastic parts are made from ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) polymer having a molecular weight of 4.2 million and greater. Garland Manufacturing Company has been processing UHMW resin for over 45 years. This true UHMW polymer is excellent for resisting abrasion and corrosion while contributing a low coefficient of friction.

Garland Manufacturing Company was the first North American processor of UHMW Polyethylene, beginning our work with UHMW in the mid 1950's. With nearly 60 years of experience in manufacturing UHMW PE, our capabilities have grown to include over 350 stock and custom profile extrusions and profile shapes; a wide variety of UHMW board, UHMW rod, UHMW sheet, UHMW tubes and UHMW tapes; and complete CNC machining and assembly capabilities of finished parts.

Garland Manufacturing Company manufactures Gar-Dur® UHMW plastic profiles, custom machined parts, and a product line of mallets and soft faced hammers.
