This alleged legal malpractice action arose out of our attorney-client's representation of the plaintiff in a marital dissolution action and a civil lawsuit filed by a lender to collect on a loan the bank made to the plaintiff's family owned business. Plaintiff alleged that our client was negligent because she allegedly persuaded plaintiff to enter into an inequitable settlement agreement, failed to uncover community assets that plaintiff's husband was allegedly hiding and improperly handled the lender action. Plaintiff's damage claims were in excess of $1 million.
