I came to Chapel Hill in 1978 when I began undergraduate school at UNC - Chapel Hill, and I have lived in the Chapel Hill area ever since. I became a lawyer in 1985 after graduating from law school at UNC - Chapel Hill. In the mid 1980's I began working for a law firm in Durham, and I stayed there until 1996. During those years I began helping people who had been hurt in accidents. By 1996, I had decided that I wanted to devote myself to helping individuals hurt in automobile and motorcycle accidents. So I opened an office in Chapel Hill. Since our office opened in 1996, we have successfully helped about 900 individuals who have been hurt in automobile and motorcycle accidents. Kristin Swofford is one important reason that we have successfully helped so many people. Kristin became my legal assistant in 1991 after graduating from Appalachian State University with a degree in Political Science with a paralegal concentration. Because of Kristin's 14 years of paralegal experience, she has a thorough understanding of how to effectively assist me in moving a client's case toward a settlement with the insurance company. Pat Longo is another reason for the success for our office. Soon after we opened the office in 1996, Kristin and I were fortunate to have Pat join us as a legal assistant.
