A certified Alcohol & Drug Abuse Treatment Program since 1985, Gateway provides outpatient counseling to more than 500 clients annually through offices in Shawnee, Okemah and Wewoka. Treatment services are provided based on client need, regardless of ability to pay or place of residence. Gateway's mission is to provide affordable professional care to persons and families suffering from the effects of alcohol or other substance abuse / addiction. Gateway's philosophy is that chemical dependency in is a primary, progressive and, unless treated, terminal disease. Gateway, in partnership with the Shawnee Public Schools, provides Student Assistance Program counselors who work with students and staff at the middle school and high school.
