Description
Frederick Geiger started the Geiger Instrument Company in 1913 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Geiger specialized in the design and manufacture of thermal cautery units. After founder Frederick Geiger passed away, a relative operated the company until 1984. That year, a group from New York purchased Geiger. The company operated in Queens, New York until 1995 when it moved to Dana Point, CA under the new name of Geiger Medical Technologies, Inc. In 2001, Geiger introduced an advanced new line-powered cautery unit, the Geiger TCU. In 2003, Geiger moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa and a new product line, the Geiger Smoke Evacuator, was introduced.
