MTA stands for Media Transfer Agent. It is a “service” that a station’s system administrator installs on a managed Windows computer (as in not a newsroom workstation). The MTA allows producers and editors to quickly send video files from NIMxchange directly into your station’s file-based workflow in your preferred definitions (1080i, 720p, 480i, 576i), compression formats (h.264 and MPEG2) and timebase (NTSC or PAL). This feature gives engineering the ability to establish best practices.
