Complimenting his role as a founder and partner of Genesis Park, Steve Gibson has over twenty-five years of experience in real estate and other business transactions, both as legal counsel and principal. After graduating from the Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1985, Mr. Gibson moved to Houston to join the law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski. After many years of transactional work and work-outs, Mr. Gibson left F&J to pursue business opportunities on his own. Mr.

Genesis Park is a Houston-based private equity firm focusing on buyouts, partnering strategies with public corporations, and growth financing. We bring capital, commercial execution capabilities and a depth of experience in mergers and acquisitions.

Overton Energy is a start up company focused on finding and executing on upstream oil and gas strategies sourced through data and relationships. In frothy energy markets, retail producing properties or “proven acreage deals” packaged and marketed by brokers are unlikely to generate acceptable returns. Overton sources deals through experienced working relationships in the North American E & P community. Good faith, prudent hedging and solid underwriting is the way Overton sources capital also.

Founded in 2000, Genesis Park has used discipline and patience to build value for our investors, regardless of prevailing market conditions. We are consistently active in our portfolio companies, listening, learning and adding value by working alongside management. While our preference is to partner with an existing management team, we commonly source additional talent to optimize the existing opportunity.
