We specialize in characterizing and reducing impacts to soil and groundwater, always with the goal of producing technically defensible and rapid results within our clients’ budgets.

GLA’s three geotechnical laboratory facilities make up an integral part of the firm’s consulting business. Our laboratory services include both standard and custom testing equipment for soils, rock, geosynthetics, and other materials as required by clients. The success of GLA’s laboratories has been a direct result of the ability to provide the highest quality, experienced testing services utilizing state of the art equipment with a qualified and experienced staff. All equipment is maintained and calibrated annually in accordance with our internal Quality Assurance Program.

GLA has highly specialized expertise in all aspects of waste management facility engineering from site selection to post-closure monitoring. Our innovative and optimizing solutions, as well as regulatory insight, have saved our clients millions of dollars.

GLA was founded in 1991 with five geologists in southern California and has grown to more than 100 geologists, engineers and support staff located in 14 offices across six states. GLA provides its clients with cost-effective, technically sound solutions to ensure that each project is completed on time, within the prescribed budget, and to the satisfaction of the client and the regulators overseeing the work.

GLA has completed thousands of geotechnical projects for a wide variety of clients and facilities, including landfills, residential developments, regional infrastructure, and mine sites. Through proper geotechnical characterization and state-of-the-art simulations of dynamic conditions, GLA expertly incorporates geologic and climatic conditions to produce designs that fit our clients’ construction needs, while minimizing impact to the environment.
