GeoGem-USA, are rock and gem enthusiasts that mine several claims throughout the Intermountain West. We started our mining adventures in 1993 and have continually expanded our operation. In 1998, we partnered with a Sri Lankan lapidary and began production of very high quality faceted stones. Our "Fantastic Facets" and wide variety of cutting styles have made us many friends in the Industry. Many mine owners, gemstone dealers, jewelry designers, manufacturers, and individual hobbiests utilize our stones. We are always seeking new clients. In March of 2000, we began Ebay Auctions. We have made many friends Internationally with this fun, high-tech forum. We became "Powersellers" within four months and have enjoyed this special Ebay community status ever since. Currently, we have become one of the largest producers of both the "Oregon Sunstone" and the "Montana Sapphire". On July 1, 2002 we found and submitted the " World's largest colored Sunstone" to the Smithsonian Institute. This stone weighed in at a phenomenal 812 carats. This stone also exhibits an extremely strong and special light effect known as "Dichroism". This unusual specimen is red in one direction and changes to green as the stone is rotated 90 degrees in another direction. Later in the Summer and early Fall, GeoGem was able to complete a successful mining operation on the famous "Rock Creek" deposit of Montana Sapphires.
