In 1985, George Nice & Sons was incorporated, and over the ensuing years, each of George’s four sons, Robert, Jerry, Ray and Michael, joined the business, each providing additional dimension to the business. What began as the installation and maintenance of septic systems has grown into a multifaceted construction business with over 100 years of combined experience in construction & field management, civil/construction estimating & engineering, GPS and machine control management, construction fleet management and unparalleled quality control.

Although a large percentage of our work is currently conducted within the private sector, we are expanding further into major public sector projects with VDOT and local municipalities from South Hampton Roads to Richmond.

Pipe Layer is to lay and join concrete, plastic, or ductile-iron pipe for drains, sewers, and water mains. This includes rigging pipe for hoisting, setting pipe to grade and affixing the pipe joint. Prepare and grade the trenches either manually or by communicating with onsite equipment operators. The Pipe Layer position requires manual labor as well as assisting other trades to the extent necessary with hands-on work. Requires a minimum of 3 - 5 years of directly related experience in the civil construction field, OSHA safety training and a current First Aid/CPR certificate.
