Joie Miller, General Manager of Georgetown Telephone Mr. Joie Miller is the current general manager of GTC. Mr. Miller has been an employee or manager of the company for over twenty years. His extensive background includes all aspects of operating a telephone company, including outside plant engineering, central office translations and switching, T-1 and related data circuit provisioning, interconnection trunking, end user and CABs billing and regulatory affairs management. He personally oversaw the complete facilities upgrade and overhaul of GTC's switching and outside plant facilities from 1995 through 1998. As part of those upgrades, as well as for gaining additional expertise and competencies, Mr. Miller has had extensive technical training in the areas of Lucent 5ESS switching and translations as well as data circuits and private line data provisioning. Mr. Miller has served as the youngest President of the Alabama-Mississippi Telephone Association (AMTA), serving in that capacity in 1994. He serves in two separate Boards of Director capacities. Mr. Miller sits on the Board of Directors for the Bank of the South, headquartered in Hazlehurst, MS, and on the Board of Directors for the Copiah Academy, of which he is also a member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Miller also co-chaired the Hazlehurst United Methodist Church Funding Campaign. Glen Mills, Chief Technician Since 1997, Mr. Glen Millis has served as the principal central office switching and outside plant facilities technician at GTC. Mr. Millis spent thirty years working for Bellsouth Corp. in both the outside plant and central office switching areas. He retired from Bellsouth in 1996 serving in the final capacity as Outside Plant Supervisor. Michele Miller, Customer Service Manager Michele Miller currently serves as Secretary and Business Office Manager. She has 20 years of experience in customer relations, customer billing and collection, bookkeeping, outside plant engineering/mapping, and interexchange company relations. She began her career in Leakesville, Ms. with Mississippi Telephone Corp. and in 1984 took over as Business Office Manager with Georgetown Telephone Company She was responsible for converting customer billing from a manual system to the companies current automated and computerized system. She is a member of Hazlehurst United Methodist Church where she has served as Decorations Committee Chairperson, Children
