Fraud artists are cashing in by setting up fake mystery-shopping programs that look authentic and require the applicant to fill out a job application and provide a social security number. The scam may ask you to shop through a specific shopping club portal and send money to set up your shopping account. When you deposit checks back from the scam artists you discover the bank returns them as counterfeit leaving you responsible for the money withdrawn from your account.
