Getaway Cabins was started almost ten years ago with a single cabin. Getaway now boasts 19 cabins at 3 locations, each with its own distinct personality, location and surroundings. Some cabins are secluded and off to themselves, while others are closer together to accommodate family and friends traveling together. The original 1840's log cabin is now the location of the office and Misty Ridge Gift Shop.Prior to their move to the Hills the owners, Jennifer and Michael Mitchell, worked in the apartment industry in Columbus, Ohio. Michael in maintenance and management, and Jennifer in management and multi-site marketing. For years, both had dreamed of moving to the Hocking Hills and offering exceptional customer service on a more personal level.Upon your arrival, you will most likely be greeted by Bear, our resident Black Lab. And don't be surprised if the cats (Poco, Kyra, and Toshi) vie for your attention as you choose from the free videos at the office. Local wildlife, including deer and wild turkey, abound and will often pose along the drive for you.
