GIVEN ASSOCIATES was started in 1960 by Paul T. Given and is now an association of independent appraisers with an average of over 20 years experience. The firm, headed by Patrick A. Given for 28 years, is a general appraisal firm that appraises all types of real estate. We are experienced in many appraisal specialties including the appraisal of environmentally sensitive land, conservation easements, condemnation, tax certiorari and we offer expert testimony regarding real estate values. Some of our recent assignments have included the appraisal of more than 70 parcels in the Town of Islip for the NYSDOT, the preparation of a conservation easement appraisal for 500+ acres in Southampton, New York, the appraisal of more than 60 parcels of land for the Towns of East Hampton, Riverhead, Shelter Island, Southampton and Southold for their Community Preservation Program, the appraisal of four industrial parcels in the Hauppauge Industrial Park, a multi-tenant office building located in Smithtown, New York, a 200 slip marina located on the eastern end of Long Island and a conservation easement appraisal on a 60 acre estate in Old Westbury, New York. Our clients include the Federal Government, State of New York (various agencies), County of Suffolk, the Towns of Smithtown, Islip, Babylon, Huntington, Southampton, Southold, East Hampton, Brookhaven, Shelter Island, Suffolk County Water Authority, Incorporated Villages, Banks, Corporations, Attorneys, Estates, School Districts and Individuals. We have testified as experts in real estate values in the Federal District Court, Supreme Court of New York (both Nassau and Suffolk Counties) and the New York State Court of Claims. The firm, through its affiliations can also provide engineering services, preparation of exhibits including aerial photos and forensic real estate services.
