Global Medical Institutes, LLC (GMI) has broad experience as a clinical site network, covering many different therapeutic areas in all phases of development. Our 12,000 square feet headquarters, located in Princeton NJ, houses our onsite 24-bed inpatient “Center for Specialized Research” designed as a Phase Ib/IIa clinical pathology facility. The unit offers many amenities such as cable television, spacious family style dining, kitchen and recreation areas, as well as a modern nursing station and laboratory facilities.

ORPHAN DRUGS: An FDA category that refers to medications used to treat diseases and conditions that occur rarely. There is little financial incentive for the pharmaceutical industry to develop medications for these diseases or conditions. Orphan drug status, however, gives a manufacturer specific financial incentives to develop and provide such medications.

Dr. Patel has over 20 years of clinical experience in both private practice and institutional settings. Having joined Global Medical Institutes in 1998 Dr. Patel specializes in psychiatric and sleep studies. He is a consulting psychiatrist at the Sleep Disorder Center of the Community Medical Center Hospital and the Friendship House Children’s Center. In addition he is the Medical Director for both the Scranton Counseling Center and the Community Behavior Healthcare Network of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Dr. Fuchs is board certified in internal medicine and has over 10 years of research experience in both private practice and pharmaceutical environments. He has been a sub-investigator at SPMI since November of 2001. In addition Dr. Fuchs maintains a very busy suburban practice in Broomall, PA practice, managed by Main Line Health Systems, which provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient adult medical care.
