Description
George D. Lepp is one of North America's best-known contemporary outdoor and nature photographers. His passions for natural beauty, technical precision, cutting-edge technology, and environmental responsibility are revealed in his beautiful and compelling photographic images. He is also widely recognized for his unique dedication to sharing his photographic and biological knowledge with other photographers through his seminars and writing. In both realms, George Lepp is a leader in the rapidly advancing field of digital imaging. Lepp's images have appeared in some of the world's most widely viewed venues, including National Wildlife, Time, Newsweek, and The New Yorker; at prestigious galleries and museums throughout the United States; and at the corporate headquarters of Canon USA, Eastman Kodak, and Epson America. He was chosen by Canon USA as one of the first members of its Explorers of Light program, which features the industry's most influential photographers, and is a Canon Print Master. He has pioneered a number of techniques for use in nature and outdoor photography, including the creation of sweeping panoramic images that capture the magnificence of locations in Africa, Antarctica, the Netherlands, and North America. His stock and assignment photography is represented by Getty, Corbis, AgStock, and Photo Researchers. Lepp is regularly read in popular photographic magazines; he is the field editor of PCPhoto and Outdoor Photographer, where he has a monthly column. He is the author of many books, including Golden Poppies of California (2005), an inspirational photographic essay that captures the spirit and beauty of the California poppy and its intrinsic connection to the rich history of California. A popular lecturer, he is a continuing member of the faculty of Photoshop World, a founding board member of the North American Nature Photographers' Association, and winner of many awards for his work, including the prestigious Progress Award, the highest given by the Photographic Society of America. He holds a Bachelor's Degree and an Honorary Master's Degree from the Brooks Institute of Photography. Photo courtesy Dewitt Jones. Thanks, Friend!
