Description

As the Golden Valley Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 25th year, we continue to pursue our founding fathers' vision. It was their desire to ensure the area's prosperity as an attractive and pleasant place to live. The area is bound by Rt. 93 to the east, Union Pass to the west, Hermit Road to the north and Oatman Road to the south. The population in 1983 was 2,000 and has grown to an estimated 20,000, showing the prosperity that was and is our vision. The chamber's membership dropped to only 32 members in the 1990s slumping economy, affecting the area and emphasizing once again the importance of our founding fathers' values. A group of citizens headed by Chris Crow established a Chamber functioning board and revived the purpose and the vision of the Chamber. Over the past 10 years, Chris and various board members have increased the membership to over 50 percent of all the businesses within the area. Under Chris's direction, the Chamber has since established a permanent home, a business directory, a relocation packet and a local botanical garden site. Golden Valley Days, the Highway 68 Bike and Car Show and many other community activities have prospered with the generous help of the business community. We look forward to the next 25 years with anticipation and excitement. The arrival of the Canamex Highway will present a multitude of opportunities for business in our community. According to Mohave County, the growth rate over the next 5-10 years is expected to double. ...
