GVEA’s coal-fired plant is located in Healy, Alaska, about two hours from Fairbanks. It was established in 1967 and can generate up to 25 MW of power. Though one of our oldest plants, it is one of the most economical to operate. A tour of the Healy Power Plant takes about one hour.
