GACE Consulting Engineers PC is an award-winning structural engineering firm headquartered in New York City's Madison Square North historic district. It was founded in 1979, and since the mid-1990's has been led by an experienced team of Principals - Michael Guilfoyle, Andrzej Okolski, and John Whelan. Under their guidance, GACE has grown substantially in talent and size and has expanded its range of services with outstanding success.

This state-of-the-art housing facility for students of a well known New Jersey University has been constructed on a land-filled old lake bed. Difficult subsurface conditions required a complex foundation system supporting the superstructure. The structure consists of reinforced masonry walls and precast plank floors and roof. The central portion of the building is constructed of structural steel because of its complex shape and large open spaces.

This project involved conversion of the renowned landmark hotel, Delmonico’s, into luxury condominiums. In order to provide more valuable apartment space, parts of the third and fourth floors were removed and the square footage rebuilt on top of the two 25th floor setbacks. In all, six stories were added on each of these setbacks. By manipulating the new framing, the additional loads were placed on existing columns below, which were able to provide support without reinforcement. In addition, a complete renovation of all floors was performed.

This, award-winning landmark facility is constructed beneath the west approach to the Queensborough Bridge at 59th Street in Manhattan. The complex consists of three levels of retail stores and restaurants under the restored Guastavino vaults inside an outdoor glass pavilion. The creation of the cellar space entailed the removal of 15 feet of earth around the existing bridge piers without disturbing the integrity of the bridge foundations.

900 Monroe is an 11-story mixed-use residential development in Hoboken. The structure consists of cast in place concrete flat plate floor slabs, supported on columns and pile caps. The building's lateral system is provided by cast in place concrete shear walls, stair, and elevator core walls. The foundation consists of pile caps and grade beams over concrete filled circular steel piles. Amenities include a public terrace at the fourth floor including swimming pool, gymnasium, retail and automated parking. Upon completion, the building will be LEED certified.
