We are the owners/operators of Good Earth Farm LLC. The farm has been in the makings since Paul purchased the property in 1985. We are both both native Texans, working hard towards our goal of having a diverse and sustainable farm. Our land has been maintained organically since its purchase. We maintained "certified organic" status with the State of Texas Department of Agriculture from 1989 to 2005. We now operate as "organic - exempt from certification" or non-certified organic. We do not have a huge customer base and the fees to remain certified organic were not the best use of our member dollar. We like to think of our farm as member certified. We do what we do because their are still folks that care enough to support us. When we encounter those that see the big picture, we are thankful ! We started similar to many others in the field of all natural/organic/sustainable growing. Our first food was grown for our family. We desired the freshest food with the least amount of handling, processing and no additives. Along the way, we found lots of other folks wanting the same thing ! After years of operating as a CSA selling vegetables, we added eggs, chicken and lamb to the mix. Our latest venture is goat milk. Although we have expanded the foods we offer, our farm is still a micro-enterprise...
