Strategic Government Resources is a full service consulting firm that specializes in helping clients recruit, select, assess, train and develop exceptional performers and Next Generation Leaders. SGR has helped cities conceptualize and develop programs for succession pool planning and next generation leadership development which have won awards by the Texas Municipal League and the National League of Cities for their innovation and impact. Although SGR is a privately held firm, we actually operate more as an association of cities than as a traditional vendor. Founded in 1997 by former City Manager Ron Holifield, SGR has grown into the largest municipal training firm in the nation, currently providing services to over 160 client cities. SGR has succeeded in providing exceptional quality training at a very low cost to local governments through a collaborative approach with regional municipal alliances and advisory boards. SGR acts as the ?in house? training department for client cities who join regional alliances as members and then help determine the content, schedule and training needs for their local area just as they would if SGR?s team of experts were ?on staff?.
