Welcome to the Grace Day School web site. Grace is a long-established independent Episcopal school, providing in a profoundly Christian environment a sound and challenging educational experience for qualified students from nursery through Grade 8. As I begin my second school year in the position of Head of School, I welcome the opportunity to continue to work with our dedicated and skilled staff in opening for Grace new opportunities, building steadily on the solid foundations that have earned for Grace the strong reputation, which it enjoys. To that end, I commit my many years of successful experience as a school administrator in both the public and private realms. Our school community is divided into three levels: Nursery/pre/kindergarten; Lower School (grades K - 4); and Upper School (grades 5 - 8). Nursery/pre/kindergarten offers developmentally appropriate half-day classes on a 5-day, 3-day, or 2-day schedule. Lower School classes are self-contained, with enrichment in art, music, computer skills, physical education, library skills, foreign language and religious studies. Upper School is departmentalized, with collaborative units bridging the disciplines of language arts, science, math, social studies, French and the fine arts. Class size at all levels is deliberately kept small. That fact, in combination with the caring support of a nurturing staff, enables Grace Day School to function in the style of a learning family.
