Steve comes to Grand Classroom with fifteen years of experience in student travel. He has extensive knowledge of all aspects of the industry and is an excellent resource for our customers and staff. In the many years that Steve has been working with student groups, he has seen many stories unfold; some comedies, some dramas and some action/adventures-but mostly he's seen heartwarming stories of students having the time of their lives and enjoying the experience of travel with their friends!

Donna, a native of central Virginia, has a diverse background in marketing and customer service. Her experience in industries such as student travel and financial services afforded her the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and Europe. Donna is a dedicated customer service professional who will work behind the scenes to insure that your trip runs smoothly and is the experience of a lifetime.

Grand Classroom was founded in 2002 by J.T. Maxwell. J.T. has always loved the outdoors as he has been camping, fishing, hiking and biking his whole life. On a road trip out west two fateful events occurred. One was meeting his wife, Robin, and the other was his first visit to the Grand Canyon. Having been in the student travel business his entire career, J.T. wanted to create an experience for kids that got them outside, showed them some of the most beautiful places on earth and educate them on the importance of preserving the environment.

For the adventure lover, you’ll spend 3 days and 2 nights kayaking and camping on Lake Powell. We provide personalized instruction, all the equipment and even cook your meals while you paddle in Lake Powell’s side canyons during the day and relax under the stars at night. From a beginner to an expert, we’ll make your heart pound on this unique adventure.
