Our Company began in 1951 in Dearborn, as Great Lakes Marmon-Herrington Coach Co., to sell and service city transit buses. One of the first vehicles we sold was the Ford City Bus. Eventually Henry Ford discontinued the manufacture of city buses, prompting a transition to selling and servicing school buses. In 1957, the company's name changed to Great Lakes Coach Sales Company.

Transportation Equipment Sales Corporation (TESCO), established in 1937, is one of the largest and most successful bus distributors in the nation. TESCO, a second generation, family owned company, is able to meet the transportation needs of nearly every market segment, with an inventory spanning from small paratransit vans, to full size coaches. The recent acquisition of Michigan bus distributor, Great Lakes Coach, gives the company the ability to further expand its’ presence in the Michigan market.
