Dr. Sheila Bosch, LEED AP, has more than fourteen years of professional experience, including green building research and consulting, serving as a pollution prevention specialist, and teaching biology, chemistry and physics to high school students. This unique and complementary set of work experiences has contributed to her becoming an excellent practitioner, researcher and teacher to support all of your sustainability efforts. Whether publishing academic papers, conducting training, making conference presentations, or guest lecturing in academic courses, Sheila is committed to enthusiastically sharing the benefits of sustainable building practices and helping others to make more sustainable choices. For more than five years, she has worked with the Sustainable Facilities & Infrastructure (SFI) Branch of the Georgia Tech Research Institute where she has contributed to the development and deployment of new educational modules for the SFI continuing education program in sustainable facilities, initiation of internal and external partnerships to extend SFI capabilities, and identification of new research areas for SFI. Sheila's areas of expertise include high performance learning environments, organizational learning and the adoption of sustainable design and construction practices, building performance assessment, and implementation of sustainable design and construction practices. Sheila developed an interest in sustainable design and construction while working as a Pollution Prevention Specialist at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), a U.S. Army Installation near Baltimore, MD. While at APG, she focused her energies on pollution prevention training and outreach, policy development and implementation, affirmative procurement, hazardous materials management, and product substitution. Sheila obtained her Doctoral degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, College of Architecture, Building Technologies program. She holds a Master's degree in Life Science (concentration in Environmental Toxicology) and a Bachelor's degree in Science Education, both from the University of Tennessee.
