The Peruvian horse descended from the Spanish horses brought to Peru by the Conquistadors. The Peruvian has a unique, inborn, four-beat lateral gait which makes it the smoothest riding horse in the world. The Peruvian has a temperament second to none and loves people and attention. Peruvians come in all basic colors, including grey and palomino. The average height is between 14 and 15 hands and the weight between 900 and 1,100 pounds.
