Thanks for stopping by! Setting up the Virginia Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities was a lot more time consuming and rewarding than I ever imagined. In 2002, our first year, we were able to award grants totaling over $61,000 to children's organizations in Virginia and Maryland. In order to raise even more funds in 2003, I have decided to once again devote my time to SCC-VA and plan to return to Legends racing in the 2004 racing season. To keep up with our activities, please visit our website at: scc-va.org . I am Dan Green, owner and driver of the Green Racing #28 car. I just started my second season of Legends racing. Last season was spent getting "seat time" and learning how to drive the car...it's a lot harder than it looks! I raced in the first race and knew I needed more practice. Over the summer, I was on the track practicing every chance I could get. This year should be spectacular! Oh, wasn't I optimistic when I wrote (and believed this)! Please check the "News" page for details of my racing results. The Legends racing season is over but the #28 and I will be back next year. In the meantime, Sandra and I are working hard to get the Virginia Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities up and running! Thanks to everyone for supporting both my racing endeavors and the SCC. My home track is Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, Virginia. Legends usually race every other Saturday night so come on out and cheer us on! It is great fun for the whole family. The next Legends Race is scheduled for 15 September, which is the last points race of the season. There will be a special Legends event on 13 October and that's it until next year. Under the direction of M/Gen Thomas Sadler, USAF Retired, this organization has raised and distributed millions of dollars to children all over the United States. My wife Sandra and I volunteer much of our free time to help with fund raising events and have now started a Virginia Chapter. We pay our own travel, lodging and other expenses during our support of SCC fund raising events...all money raised goes directly to help the children. We'll be looking for people to help us who want to work hard (for no pay), have fun, and enjoy helping children.
