In March 1974, Greenhouse Garden Center opened at its present location in Carson City, owned and operated by Dr. & Mrs. Robert Ruf, retired University of Nevada Professor of Horticulture and elementary school teacher, respectively. Dr. and Mrs. Ruf operated the Garden Center until 1994, when they retired passing the family business and love of plants to their son, David Ruf, a life-long Greenhouse employee and graduate of Colorado State University's Horticulture program. Co-owner Candi Ruf is a UNR graduate and is currently attending colledge to become an elementary school teacher. Under their leadership, the Garden Center continues the strong family tradition of providing excellent horticultural material and services to Northern Nevada on its four acre nursery site. Our full-time Garden Center employees hold Master Nursery Garden Center and Nursery Worker Training Certification credentials. We can answer your gardening questions with confidence and pride.
