Description
Eric is an avid reader and enjoys studying American history, philosophy, and apologetics. He and his wife enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading together, going to nearby waterfront, and sampling the local cuisine available throughout the Seattle area. Eric is dedicated to helping others live healthy and fulfilling lives, and to preserving truth within our American culture. Eric enjoys encouraging others to grow by pursuing wisdom and knowledge and is a leader and active participant at his church.
Reverend Shirley has played an instrumental part in the progression of our relationship. In a time when marriage faces a daunting rate of divorce, she shares with us some of her personal secrets she has used in her 30 plus years of marriage to her husband and 20 plus years of counseling married couples. She was able to provide us a supportive and constructive environment where we felt heard and understood. We discussed fundamental topics including intimacy within our relationship, faith in Christ and one another, marital finances, expectations and many more significant topics.
In my practice as a counselor, I believe that relationships are both formative and transformative. Most people find a connection between their relationships and the struggles they experience in their lives. Therefore, I approach counseling from an interpersonal perspective. In our sessions together, I will ask questions about your past and current relationships and their contribution to the issues that brings you to therapy. Where appropriate, I also incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques in my practice.
Eric has a broad range of expertise as a result of his clinical education and experience in couple & family dynamics, trauma & abuse, child & adolescent development, and parenting dynamics. Eric's knowledge stems from his graduate education in Marriage & Family Therapy, his experience working with children & their families during his clinical internship at Sound Mental Health, his post-graduate experience as a child & family clinician at Valley Cities Counseling and Consultation and his treatment of individuals, couples, and families as a member of Seattle Christian Counseling.
