And it stays so pure because the Greenville Water System protects it. Owning all of the 26,000 acres of two watersheds, we exercise more control over our source water than any water system in the world. When you drink a glass of crystal clear water, fill a tub for your baby's bath, or dive into the neighborhood swimming pool, we know you don't think about the Water Commission, filtration plants, or lab technicians. The Greenville Water System has provided clean, pure water for more than 80 years and continues to protect one of Greenville's most precious resources for almost 400,000 residents through the latest technology and proactive education and conservation programs.
