Description

In 1981, Griffith Company initiated its transition to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Corporation. 2002 marks the year that our company became 100% employee-owned. Every employee/owner remains personally invested in maintaining the quality of our work. Together, we continue to uphold our company’s guiding principles, collectively known as the Griffith Way: Honesty, integrity and a commitment to deliver on our promises.

At a time when our water resources are challenged by the continued growth of our region, Griffith Company is helping provide our local agencies with solutions to water supply and quality issues. As an integral piece of our $6.2 million Discovery Sports Complex Project for the City of Downey, Griffith Company installed an underground concrete storm water detention basin, capable of retaining precious storm water runoff to recharge the underground aquifer. Utilizing the newest water retention technology, we placed over 700 pre-cast concrete building blocks that formed the underground basin.

The METRO Canopy Project required construction of five new canopies over existing subway portals on METRO's Redline in various downtown Los Angeles locations. To accommodate access to the stations, the canopies are each an artistic, cantilever tripod design with an elliptical shape measuring approximately 70 feet by 44 feet and 15 feet in height. All power, lighting, CCTV, and drainage is self-contained within the structure to provide a clean view from any angle.

The iconic Morris Dam is one of 14 major dams that are owned by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District to provide the LA Basin with flood risk management and a sustainable supply of stormwater for recharging underground aquifers. Griffith Company completed the $10.6mil Water Supply Enhancement Project in 2013, replacing the dam’s original technology with automated control systems, upgraded electrical and communication systems, and new updated components.

As the construction industry evolves, new technologies, challenges and opportunities emerge. Griffith Company continues to respond to these changes with flexibility, responsiveness and adaptability. We were one of the first Southern California-based general contractors to develop a systematic project-management process, allowing us to efficiently manage the multiple components of today’s complex projects. This process has earned Griffith Company a number of prestigious industry awards and recognition.
