MESSAGE OF PEACE 2009 By Yogi Sundari MD Aka Susan Groh MD Are you all ways peaceful? Yoga is a path, or more accurately a science with many paths which, when practiced with earnest, leads to a peaceful mind and an easeful body. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be. With God as our father, brothers, sisters are we. Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony. Let peace begin with me. Let this be the moment now. With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow. To take each moment, and live each moment in peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. (1) I am writing as I sit in Charlottesville Airport, having completed a Silent Retreat. (2) My life has become so crowded, especially with the added holiday activities, that my usual yoga and meditation practice has not been able to sustain my peace and joy. And so I retreat to get quiet, to explore within, to eat vegetables, to meditate, to chant, to do asanas, to walk in the woods in the rain, to hear uplifting spiritual talks, to pray alone and as part of a community, and to remain silent. The message of all faiths is so very similar. As my teacher, Swami Satchitananda, said ,
