Description

The Grosse Pointe Academy has established a school-wide network with access to the Internet. The Academy's goal in providing this service is to promote educational excellence through communication, resource sharing and connectivity. We believe that the World Wide Web offers vast, diverse and unique resources for learning and that this potential far outweighs the possibility that students may procure material that is inappropriate or inconsistent with the educational goals of the Academy.

LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS May 3, 2014 Daily reading is a priority for me, both philosophically as an educator and practically as a means to recharge on a daily basis. Recently I read a thought-provoking article by Brian Resnick in the National Journal that led me to a New York Times article by David Leonhardt, and I had to share them both with our school community. I strongly encourage you to read them; they are just short enough that you can! In his article "Here's 100 Years of Proof that Girls Are Better Students Than Boys", Resnick writes about the "boy crisis" in American schools.

We invite you to tour the beautiful grounds of The Grosse Pointe Academy at your convenience. Our award winning school was recently renovated and offers the advantage of a state-of-the-art facility featuring a centerpiece library and media center, computer labs and technology throughout and innovative science labs. Renovated classrooms, a new music wing and art loft and gallery, along with the spacious Tracy Fieldhouse, offer children an unparalleled learning environment.

The Grosse Pointe Academy completed comprehensive renovations to the campus in 2007 as part of the Tradition and Tomorrow Capital Campaign. The campaign addressed several issues: renovating facilities to provide state-of-the-art learning spaces while preserving the historic buildings the Academy is known for; increasing the endowment to support faculty salaries and to attract and retain the best teachers available; and maintaining the beautiful and historic campus.

Vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free options are offered daily. In addition to providing school food services, Plum Market is available to help Academy families with personal catering needs. Plum will donate 5% of catering orders back to GPA! For catering, please contact Rachel Rattray, Catering & Events, 248-487-7000 .
