PARENT LETTER September 1, 2009 Dear Parents, The Chillicothe R2 School District wants to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff. The Livingston County Health Department has advised us to expect a possible resurgence of the H1N1 flu. Children, adolescents and young adults between the ages of 6 months and 24 years of age are in a high-risk group for complications from the virus. Signs and symptoms of H1N1 virus are similar to the symptoms of the regular human flu. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected also have reported diarrhea and vomiting. As a District, we are installing numerous antibacterial dispensers for student and staff use, scheduling presentations by the school nurses on appropriate hand washing and coughing into one
