Vasavada Fundraising efforts support local academic programs, with 120 scholarships to high school seniors, 330 awards to middle school and high school seniors at the top of their class, dictionaries given to all 3rd grade students in local schools to stimulate learning (over 500 distributed in the past 10 years), and sponsorship of short story and poetry contests to encourage creative writing. Our club also donates books each week to the local community library and schools. Gualala Rotary Scholarship & Service Foundation is a federally approved 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Organization, for tax-deductible contributions. Lindsey Smith, Ambassadorial Scholar We are proud of our own Gualala Rotary Scholar who attended Stanford University, and went on to win the prestigious Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship, funding a year of university study in Italy.
