ESI and Gus Hawkins believe in giving back to the community. As a member of Kiwanis International, Gus has been the Indiana District's Chairperson of Kiwanis Worldwide Service Project, the elimination of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD), for the past three years. Worldwide, this project has raised more than $76 million to fund projects internationally which will eliminate the most prevalent form of preventable mental retardation in the world. Kiwanis International's partner in this project is UNICEF. Gus has also served Kiwanis as project chairman, club president, and division Lt. Governor.
