Sierra Roofing Systems takes great pride in the fact that we are certified by a very select group of roofing material manufacturers. Many roofers will tell customers that certification is unimportant. We fervently believe that certification is vitally important. 65% of new roofs that fail, do so due to improper installation. It obviously depends on the roof. Most new roof systems are designed to provide useful service for about 20+ years. Some roof types, such as slate, clay tile, and certain metal (e.g., copper) roofs, can last much longer. Actual roof system life span is determined by a number of factors, including local climatic and environmental conditions, proper roof system design, proper installation, ventilation, material quality, and adequate roof maintenance (or lack thereof). Roofing product manufacturers offer a variety of warranties on their products.
