About Us -- Ham Insurance Agency was established in 1961 when Clifford B. Ham purchased a one-room office, located on Main Street, from Verrill F. Perkins. The agency then relocated to a three-room office in February of 1965 to its present location on Portland Street. In 1971 Bob Ham left New Hampshire Insurance Company to work for his father. Clifford's daughter, Karen (Ham) Stevens, joined his agency after graduating high school in 1977. Clifford's agency continued to grow and expand to accommodate more employees. After 36 years of service, Clifford Ham retired in December of 1996. In its 45 years of service, the company continues to expand while providing service for personal and commercial insurance to over 3,000 clients. With only a small office of five highly respectable and professional employees, Ham Insurance continues to get recognition for their outstanding service to their clients. In 2009 the Ham Agency merged with Paquin & Carroll Insurance to offer its customers a wide range of insurance products and Employee Benefits with services through out Northern New England.
