Foundation – HMS Group was founded in 1960 with corporate headquarters in Troy, Michigan. We are one of the largest manufacturer of Part Transfer Systems and Part Handling Equipment. Our customer base consists of automotive, appliance, and consumer product manufacturers such as Ford, Chrysler, Frigidaire, and Whirlpool.Retail Origin – In 1987 a new division called HMS Mfg. Co. was created with the objective of exclusively designing retail products. We began by developing quality patented plastic Christmas tree stands. HMS has since expanded the Christmas product line under the brand name E.Z. Christmas® to include live, artificial and rotating Christmas tree stands, Christmas accessories, and outdoor lighting kits. In 1997, the brand E.Z. Halloween® allowed us to expand into the Halloween category with a full line of pumpkin carving, decorating and lighting kits.Technology – HMS excels in engineering design, FEA, mold flow analysis, and testing fixtures. HMS’s engineers have extensive education and expertise in graphic design, product design, 3D software, and industrial engineering. We are constantly evaluating the utilization of stack tools, multiple cavity tools, and the latest technological advances in molding systems to lower cycle times. We practice an extensive quality review procedure. Quality assurance is measured at the press, at the loading dock, at the warehouse, at our corporate office, and at retail level utilizing computer programs and physical testing fixtures. HMS has the ability to design a part in 2 to 4 weeks, design and build a mold in 10 to 16 weeks, and be ready to ship production 2 weeks after mold completion. This time-line allows HMS to provide our retailers with products that reflect the most up-to-date product trends.
