H & H Jewelry Design is a third generation family owned store. Unlike many jewelry stores, we have in-house, experienced goldsmiths for all of your jewelry needs. Jannine (Harsh) Alexander (Ford Hurlbutt was her Grandfather and Keith Harsh her father) has been goldsmithing for over 28 years; her husband, Ron, has been goldsmithing for over 35 years. We specialize in jewelry repair, appraisals, and designing custom jewelry. With over 60 years of goldsmith experience combined and experience repairing jewelry for thirty-five stores, we have done it all and seen it all!.

We have over 60 years of goldsmith experience combined – Ron has been goldsmithing for over 35 years and Jannine has been goldsmithing for over 28 years. From 1946 to 1995 we repaired jewelry and stone set for thirty-five stores in the Lansing area. We have done it all and seen it all! With over 60 years of combined goldsmith and jewelry repair experience for thirty-five different stores, we have done it all and seen it all! Consultants Carrie Smith (20 years) and Amanda Smith (2 years) also add a wealth of experience to help you make informed decisions about your jewelry purchases.

Grading diamonds is not an exact science, rather an applied science or discipline based on judgment, competence and the experience of the gemologists. First established in 1974 as one of the oldest and largest gemological institutions in the world, the European Gemological Laboratory’s mission is to take the guesswork out of buying diamonds by providing diamond grading consultations and certificates to internationally accepted standards. Their customers are professional diamond wholesalers, retailers, manufactures and craftsmen in the diamond industry. They do not sell diamonds and they are totally independent of any diamond sales organization. To maintain their reputation for accuracy and consistency, they have defined criteria and standard procedures which are adhered to by EGL laboratories around the world.
