Naturally Safe: The beauty of these products is their simple effectiveness and the "environmentally responsible" nature of the formulation. Since potassium bicarbonate is a simple compound found in nature, using it as an effective fungicide is not considered disruptive or harmful to human health or the environment. Proven Effective: Since 1985, plant pathologist, Ken Horst, Ph.D. and his team of researchers at Cornell University have experimented, tested and refined the use of bicarbonates for the control of foliar plant diseases. Bicarbonates have been known for their fungicidal activity for years, but achieving the correct formulation to obtain superior foliar disease control has been elusive-until the development of this formula. Research has shown that homemade concoctions do not have the same effectiveness as GreenCure ®. Application of bicarbonates alone have minimal effectiveness and mixing in various chemicals more often leads to phytoxicity or burning of the leaves. The current formulation is the result of years of research involving over 350 different additives to achieve a formulation that delivers commercial performance levels to home and garden enthusiasts. GreenCure ® is labeled for use on over 85 different annual and perennial flowers, woody and ornamental shade trees, woody and herbaceous ornamentals, many herbs and vegetables, and ornamental nut and fruit trees.
