Shenhua Group Selected H&J to Provide Consulting Services on Improving Coal Mine Safety Management System H&J has been awarded a consulting services contract for Improvement of Open-Pit Mine Safety Management System project by Shenhua Group, the largest coal mining company in China with a diversified energy enterprise with major businesses concentrating on coal production, sales, electricity & thermal generation, coal liquefaction & coal chemicals, railway and port transportation. The objectives and the scope of the project include: (1) Performing safety assessments and gap analyses; (2) Establishing corporate-wide safety standards and safety procedures; (3) Reviewing current safety culture and providing recommendations; (4) Performing a comprehensive risk assessment and identifying and categorizing all potential risks at coal mines; (5) Establishing a mine safety management system considering ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 international standards; and (6) Completing a software system to assist management to make risks identified. H&J’s consultant team was mobilized in October 2009, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of August 2010.
