For over 60 years, Lochner has been associated with transportation engineering innovation and integrity. Founded in 1944 by Harry W. Lochner, then a respected City of Chicago transportation planner, the firm has since grown to nearly 400 employees in 26 offices nationwide.Today, our chairman is Harry’s son, Hal -- Harry W. Lochner, Jr. -- who continues to steer the company with great enthusiasm and vision. Larry Thomas serves as our president and share's the same values that have been the cornerstone of Lochner's organization.Design of the first urban transportation plan to include limited access highways and transit. Produced for Atlanta, this Lochner Plan grew to incorporate local streets, parking, trucking and more, and was adopted as a model for more than 30 U.S. cities.
