In 1971, Harvey L. Hall started his own ambulance service with one goal in mind to provide people with the absolute best in pre-hospital care and transportation. It was during those early years that Mr. Hall established an exacting list of standards aptly called "The Hall Way of Doing Things." These standards are still adhered to 35 years later and may be attributed as the cornerstone of Hall Ambulance Service's success. Hall Ambulance Service currently serves as the 9-1-1 Advanced Life Support (ALS)- level provider of emergency ambulance services to the majority of the ambulance operating areas in Kern County , California . Hall Ambulance Service, based in Bakersfield , California , has been providing services without interruption since 1971. During those 35 years, Hall Ambulance Service has pioneered a great majority of the operational and clinical improvements that the citizens and visitors of Kern County currently enjoy. In December of 2001, Hall Ambulance Service expanded its lifesaving resources to include a helicopter response service with the establishment of Hall Air Ambulance. Hall Air Ambulance plays an important role in reducing the time to reach critical patients in western and central Kern County rural communities. Today, Hall Ambulance Service is the largest privately-owned ambulance company in the State of California .
