Halsom Home Care is a home medical equipment company which has been operating in the Dayton, Ohio, area for over 70 years. Originally a dealer of physician office supplies, Halsom changed direction in 1984 and began to focus on medical equipment for use in the home. As legend would have it, in 1936, a pharmacist named George Hale and a medical supplies salesman named LLoyd Sommerlot partnered to form a medical supply business. They joined parts of both of their last names to come up with Halsom Medical Supply. Then in 1984, the supplies portion of the business was sold leaving a growing home medical equipment entity. The resulting company carried the name Halsom Home Care.
