Hamco Tank Systems LLC introduced the very first fuel oil tank cleaning system for residential heating back in 1978. Roger E. Hamel spent over 20 years as an oil burner technician before establishing Hamco Tank Systems. He pioneered residential oil tank cleaning and brought the awareness of SLUDGE to the forefront. Prior to Hamco's first tank cleaning system, the choices for resolving sludge related problems was to replace the tank... cut a hole in the tank and scrape it out.. and/or to keep changing filters, nozzles, pump screens and burner pumps! Now some 27 years later, tank cleaning and management is recognized by the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) for maintaining efficient oil burner operation.
