An Arizona native, Hannes started making jewelry in 1974. Hannes Garrett is a true metalsmith at heart; a self taught silversmith, trained blacksmith, certified welder and freelance sculptor. For over 20 years he headed of the Foundries at Cosanti and Arcosanti . Hannes has mastered the technique of lost Styrofoam casting and taught dozens of apprentices the secrets of running a small sand foundry; working as technical advisor on many projects. He has always been partial to the idea of someone forming their own personal connection to a piece of jewelry and likes knowing that each piece becomes a part of his customer ’s lives.
